{mosimage}Grammy-nominated singer Chris Brown is close to signing on to star in the new T.I. movie, Bone Deep. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Chris Brown is in final negotiations with Screen Gems to appear in the thriller, which along with Tip will also feature Matt Dillon and The Wire’s Idris Elba. The teen sensation is also in talks to executive produce the project. Directed by John Lussenhop, the story is about a group of criminals who plan a major heist at a money depot, with two detectives hot on their trail. The young heartthrob will play one of the crooks in the film. If Brown and Screen Gems agree to terms, it will mark Brown’s fourth film with the Sony specialty label. Brown made his big screen debut in 2006’s Stomp the Yard, which grossed more than $60 million at the domestic box-office, and co-starred in last year’s holiday film This Christmas, which earned $49 million. The 19 year-old is also set to star in the studio’s sports drama Phenom in 2009, where he will play a basketball star that turns pro after high school, only to discover he is the illegitimate son an aging NBA star. Bone Deep is set to hit theatres in 2009. In related news, Brown recently received 10 nominations at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, the most of any artist. Among the nominations, Brown is competing in such categories as best R&B artist, male artist and best hookup, for his track No Air with Jordin Sparks. The award ceremony airs at 8 p.m. on Monday, August 4th on Fox. Source: SOHH |
